Ariel here. Ok, we get it, the Coronavirus has thrown a wrench in your daily routine. It’s frustrating and our stress levels are through the roof, but we have to remember, there are certain things that are out of our hands. We can’t control the current pandemic, weather or how other people feel, but, you have the power to control your stress, emotions and waist line. By moving your body and getting the blood flowing, it gives you an outlet to blow off steam, and remain on track with your fitness goals. Just because you can’t make it to the gym, doesn’t mean you can’t exercise. As we live in a digital age, with online platforms like YouTube, we have access to thousands of FREE cardio, yoga, strength, and ab workouts at our fingertips. So, I’ve compiled a list of some of my favorites. Get ready to burn calories, lose weight, tone up, and get your #summerbody back on track!
30 Minute HIIT – This FREE 30 minute HIIT routine from SELF Magazine is designed to help you lose weight. It features 3 rounds with intense moves catered to blast as much fat as possible. The instructor is bubbly and charismatic which is great motivation to keep you moving throughout the workout. SELF’s YouTube channel is filled with other workouts and wellness interviews with some of your favorite celebrities.
Insanity Max 30 – Ok, this program may not be free, BUT you do get a FREE 14-day trial before signing up. As the name says, this 30-minute HIIT workout is absolutely insane. A friend of mine who was in the military for several years said Insanity was harder than his basic training. Buckle up as Shaun T takes you on a fitness ride that will help you lose weight and mold your #summerbody in no time! BODi (formerly Beachbody) on Demand will let you do 14 days FREE!
The Spin Junkie – Addicted to spinning but can’t afford a Peloton? We got you covered. Head to Amazon and grab a bike (that’s where I got mine), and put on The Spin Junkie’s YouTube channel of FREE spin classes. Her cardio classes range from 20 -60 minutes, and the best part, all her songs are unedited and each class has a special theme. A few of my favorites are the FREE 20-Minute Britney Spears Spin Class, the Rihanna Ride 45-Minute Spin Class, and all the Ratchet Rides!
Tae Bo – Yes you read that correctly. The popular low impact cardio workout from the early 2000’s has made a comeback on YouTube with both FREE old and new videos. The Tae Bo channel has a massive catalog, including the all new quarantine series – In the Living Room with Billy Blanks and my personal favorite, the 45 minute Bootcamp. This low impact workout is great on the joints and helps you burn calories and lose weight with less trauma to the body.
Unique Haro – This spin teacher may be petite, but don’t let that fool you, her bark is fierce and so are her FREE spin cardio workouts. The energy is ablaze in all her classes and her song choices are to be applauded. Since her videos are on YouTube, all you need is a spin bike from anywhere, like Amazon, a phone, tablet, or TV, and get to spinning. All her classes are great but I can’t get enough of the 35 Min Ride and the 50 Min Throwback Hip Hop Ride.
30 Minute Yoga Cardio (HIIT) Workout – I love this FREE YouTube yoga routine because it’s the perfect blend of yoga and cardio. Get ready to build some heat and sweat as you flow through a HIIT- style vinyasa designed to burn fat, tone muscle and relax your mind. And, Lesley Fightmaster has the most soothing voice ever!
Travis Eliot – Adorned by celebrities and athletes, world-renowned yogi, meditation teacher and author Travis Eliot is gifting us with FREE yoga videos. His intensely dynamic yoga practice ranges from Gentle, to Power, to Yin, allowing for full yoga growth. Travis will make you sweat while burning calories, gaining strength, and flexibility. My favorite videos are the 60 min. Power Yoga “Flexibility” Class with Travis Eliot – Level Up 108 Program, and the 60min, Yin Yoga ” Complete” LIVE class with Travis Eliot. Namaste!
Calorie Blasting Barre Workout You Can Do AT HOME – This FREE barre workout was designed to do at home. Grab a chair and some small weights or water bottles and you are ready to burn and tone. For 30 minutes your entire body will shake as you do this ballet-inspired strength training workout.
12 Minute Booty Building Workout – Sir-Mix-a-Lot told us years ago that big butts were in and he was right! This FREE booty routine is great for lifting and shaping your butt . This 12 minute video can be done 1-3 times to give you a great lower body workout. Pretty soon, you will be rivaling, Beyoncé , Jennifer Lopez and Kim Kardashian!
30 Minute Strength Training Workout With Dumbbells – No dumbbells, no worries, this FREE workout can be done with or without weights. This workout from fitness leader Popsugar Fitness incorporates lunges, squats, push ups and more and will leave you drenched. Check out their page for a full list of their workouts.
Blogilates – We all want a flat tummy and YouTube fitness entrepreneur Cassie Ho, has created the perfect collection of FREE ab videos to make your dreams come true. Pilates Bridal Bootcamp – Waist Cincher – This FREE 5 minute ab video from The Pilates Fix may not be the longest, but let me tell you, your entire core will feel it. Each move is designed to elongate your torso and lean out your abs. Yes please!
Uptown Abs Workout at Gymtastics Gym Club – Uptown Funk isn’t just a popular Bruno Mars song, but it also inspired a crazy, hard ab challenge. Just try to keep up with this gymnastics club as they do this FREE killer core workout.
