The Princess Bride at Hollywood Forever Cemetery
Celebrate true love with a 30th anniversary screening of The Princess Bride. Follow the adventures of a chivalrous stable boy (Cary Elwes) who pledges his love to Princess Buttercup (Robin Wright). International Surf Festival

Brooklyn’s Four & Twenty Blackbirds Pie Bakery Pop Up at Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream

The pie baking sister co-owners Melissa and Emily Elsen and Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams founder Jeni Britton Bauer, will be joining forces once again. You will be able to order pies by the slice or whole, served a la mode with a scoop of ice cream or enjoyed at home with pints to go. Two new pie flavors created for the LA collaboration include Shaker Citrus and seasonal Stone Fruit Granola, will be served alongside Four & Twenty Blackbirds’ signatures Salty Honey and Matcha Custard. The collaboration is part of Jeni’s ongoing effort to give like-minded good food producers a chance to showcase their work in a new setting. Celebrate the 100th year of the MAKE Building
Celebrate where “the old becomes new,” with live music, historical tours, artists-in-action demonstrations, a make & take craft station, backyard barbecue and good libations. In 1917 the Crawford Family, famous for their Scottish orange marmalade, established the Crawford Marmalade Factory, a production house that bottled thousands of jars for generations. The old marmalade factory is now the MAKE Building. The newest addition to the Anaheim Packing District gastronomy has undergone a transformation by the LAB team in step with the revival of the adjacent historic Anaheim Packing House. The MAKE Building now houses modern-day makers: Unsung Brewery, Pali Wine Company, and soon-to-come Stone Groove Stillhouse and Jav’s BBQ. The Anaheim Historical Society will be offering 20-minute historical tours, and the Anaheim Halloween Parade will host an interactive “Make & Take” craft station. For dessert, citrus-infused cakes from Orange Clementine’s pop-up on the patio will be available for purchase. Local artists-in-action will demonstrate their creative process while melodic vintage vibes resonate throughout, performed by The Darden Sisters (6-8 pm) and local Rockabilly legends, The Honeydrops (7-9 pm). 800 Degrees Hollywood Introduces New Look & New Menu
Since its debut in 2012 in Los Angeles, 800 Degrees, an authentic Neapolitan-style pizzeria Founded by Corporate Executive Chef Anthony Carron has been serving up hand-stretched dough, premium-quality cheeses, produce and charcuterie. Now, Carron and 800 Degrees’new C.E.O. Tommy Lee are turning up the heat at 800 Degrees Hollywood by introducing a new look and new menu including rotisserie chicken, cocktails and more! Chef Carron and 800 Degrees Hollywood have partnered with Palisades Ranch to provide all-natural rotisserie chicken at the Hollywood location. The Rotisserie Chicken is available as a plate (Quarter Chicken, Half Chicken, and Whole Chicken) with two sides, or individually when purchased in whole. Sides include roasted fingerling potatoes, Brussels sprouts, hummus, farm greens, or quinoa tabbouleh. You can also choose from six sauces that are made in-house daily to accompany your chicken including a Peruvian Jalapeño-Cilantro Sauce made with jalapeños, cilantro, lime, mayo and garlic; the 800 Degrees Barbecue Sauce; the Tahini Sauce; the Spicy Tomato Sauce made with uncooked Roma tomatoes, garlic, olive oil and Calabrian Chile; the Calabrian Chile Aioli made with Italian chiles, herbs, spices and aioli; and the Piri Piri Sauce featuring a blend of citrus, chiles, garlic, onion, herbs and olive oil. Carron and Lee also wanted to update the look of the 800 Degrees Hollywood that was warm and inviting, and would allow you to be able to sit and relax. They added all new lighting and warm brown leather booths and banquets with dark wood and marble top tables. They also expanded their patio by adding wood banquets surrounding the patio, multiple tables for two, and an outdoor bar all covered with umbrellas and canopy’s so you can enjoy dining at lunch or dinner outdoors comfortably.
