Since 1872, Shiseido has held the title of being one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious cosmetic and skincare companies. On May 31, the beauty powerhouse chose an exclusive Malibu beach house to debut the launch of several new products. Malibu would be the setting for a three day activation featuring delicious food, cocktails, products and celebrity appearances.
Day 1: The WASO line is coming to Sephora!
Inspired by Japanese superfoods, the WASO line is derived from Washoku, a form of Japanese cuisine that focuses on pure, simple ingredients. Like the cuisine, WASO promises to promote glowing skin by combining natural ingredients such as: carrots, loquat, honey, tofu yuzu and red basil with technology. WASO is geared to young adults ages 18-25 dealing with unbalanced skin. The line consists of a cleanser, hydrating cream, moisturizer and masks, all made with superfoods to stimulate super skin. The line is exclusively at Sephora.
As the WASO skincare line is promoting health, they teamed with celebrity chef Shirley Chung to host a healthy cooking lesson. The beach house was alive with rich smells, laughter and celebrities, such as actress Cassie Scerbo.
The day concluded with a cocktail mixer and decadent dinner at one of Malibu’s most beloved restaurants, Nobu. The dinner guests included Stephanie Shepherd, Jen Atkin and Scotty Cunha.
Day 2: Pucker Up!
June 1 was a celebration of the Shiseido new line of ColorGel LipBalms. These fresh lip balms are known for their nourishing hydration and weightless texture on the lips. Beauty and lifestyle influencers were invited to an intimate brunch with warm bites and cold champagne. Guests mingled as they selected their favorite lip balms and then had their lips “read” by lipsologist, Good Fortune with Pamela. Celebrity sightings included, Desi Perkins, Shayla Mitchell, Angel Merino (Mac Daddy), Liane V, Griselda Martinez, Diana Madison, and Eman. At night, the Malibu beach house was converted into a sexy lounge. Adrienne Bailon, Gigi Gorgeous, Jamie Chung And Nazanine Pimentel were seen sipping libations and dancing.
Day 3: Sweat. Brunch. Luxuriate.
Sunday June 2 started out with a heart pumping beach workout led by one of my favorite fitness enthusiasts, Anna Renderer. Guests, including actress Katrina Bowden participated in a low impact cardio and yoga inspired workout as they listened to the waves crash on the shore. The beach was the perfect setting to debut Shiseido’s Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion WetForce SPF and the Shiseido Clear Struck UV Protector WetForce. These sunscreens are perfect for all activities as they offer powerful sweat-proof protection.
The morning workout was followed up by a special brunch with guest speaker journalist/activist Catt Sadler. Healthy bites and mimosas were served as Catt revealed her newest venture, Naked – a hip new podcast. #NakedPod is a raw and genuine conversation with Catt and women from all walks of life sharing their struggles and secrets of success. The podcast is set in Catt’s bedroom allowing for a comfortable and safe environment. Each week, Catt and her guest will get “naked”, by stripping off one personal item or piece of armor. New episodes air every Thursday.
The weekend was coming to a close and as the night approached, several guests, including: Annalynne and Rachel Mccord , Jamie Chung, Bryan Greenberg and Cara Santana were whisked away on a sunset cruise with music, food and cocktails.
Beauty Juggernaut Shiseido selected Malibu to be the site of their three day launch party to reveal several new beauty products: WASO, a unique line derived from superfoods and botanicals, a line of ultra-hydrating and lightweight ColorGel LipBalms, and a sunscreen perfect for everyday wear and fitness activities. The weekend was the perfect mélange of aperitifs, food and beauty.
