National Martini Day

Bar Manager Jake Larowe of Birds & Bees is serving up a Classic, Perfect Oven Roasted Onion Gibson Martini or the Shaken Vodka for $10. Jake’s has some tips on how to enjoy the perfect Classic Martini for the boozy holiday. It’s all about the ratios. Go for a 5:1 ratio of a solid dry gin–preferably The Botanist or the St. George Terroir. Next, let’s talk pairings. Try pairing either gins with a bold Italian dry vermouth rather than a French version, and add a dash of orange bitters. Stir, not shake. Gently stir together and strain into a chilled stemmed glass with a thin lemon twist to garnish. Drink fast. To avoid having a warm martini, Jake recommends drinking the martini in 3-4 large pulls. Wednesday; 207 S Broadway, B, Los Angeles, CA 90012
