Celestino Ristorante Introduces a Three-Course Summer Power Lunch Menu
Created by Owner and Executive Chef Calogero Drago, Celestino Ristorante is now offering a flavor-packed Three-Course Prix-Fixe Lunch Menu which also includes a non-alcoholic lunchtime beverage. The menu starts off with the antipasti including Insalata di Lattughe Miste con Barbabietole Rosse Gialle made with mixed baby greens, fresh beets, topped with goat cheese, apples and walnuts; the Burrata con Salsa Peperone e Vegetali Miste, burrata cheese, mixed vegetables and bell pepper sauce, or the Zupa di Lenticche e Cavolo, a lentil and kale soup. The entrée section has choices between four dishes including the handmade Gnocchi di Spinaci alla Sorrentina, spinach potato dumplings and tomato, in a mozzarella sauce; the Involtini di Pollo con Marsala, prepared chicken breast in a Marsala wine sauce; the Maccheroncini all’ Aratriciana, house-made pasta with bacon, onion, tomato, and Pecorino cheese, or the Filetto di Sole al Vapore con Misticanza di Vegetali, a filet of Sole served with mixed seasonal vegetables. New South City Fried Chicken Lunchtime Pop-Up
After a year and a half located inside DTLA’s Corporation Food Hall, Partners Joshua Kopeland Executive Chef Sammy Monsour closed South City Fried Chicken and are now introducing their new South City Fried Chicken Lunchtime Pop-Up. Sandwiches include the Chapel Hill Sandwich with his Pop’s Slaw, his sister Jenny’s pimento cheese, house pickles and Tarheel country ham; the Greenville Sandwich, a take on the Club Sandwich, has chicken thighs cured with salt and sugar and hickory smoked before frying them up and dressing them up with house mayo, gruyère, baby iceberg lettuce and heirloom tomato; the New Orleans Sandwich with Creole remoulade, Cajun spice, Thai basil, a fried egg, benne seeds, and ginger-miso BBQ; the Austin Sandwich with Rojo bean hummus, Burrata, Javi’s Tia’s Hot Sauce, pickled radish, cilantro, blue corn tortilla crumble and heirloom tomato; and the Nashville Sandwich, seasoned with a Nashville rub, chili oil, house pickles and a sweet and tangy Cookout slaw. For those looking for something a little on the lighter side, order up the the Pop’s Chop salad with North Country bacon ends, heirloom tomato, scallion, Humboldt Fog goat’s cheese and buttermilk dressing; the Chicken Bacon Cobb with house chicken bacon, heirloom tomato, cucumber, hard-boiled egg, queso fresco and avocado ranch; or the OGO Caesar with Monterey Bay seaweed, mustard frills, caper berries, Parmigiano and toasted yellow-eyed peas. there are also seafood staples including the Cajun “Popcorn” Rock Shrimp with a buttermilk marinade, cornmeal crust, Creole remoulade and chunky cocktail sauce; the Dungeness Crab Hushpuppies with a Low-Country Boil Spice, charred Poblano butter, house bourbon barrel-aged green hot sauce; and Fried Mississippi Catfish comprised of buttermilk marinade, cornmeal crust, house pickles, celery salt, and red remoulade. Fried Chicken Plates feature Chicken & Waffles served with two boneless breasts on cinnamon sugar, cornbread waffles with bourbon-maple, crushed pecans, marjoram and butter; Chicken & Biscuit with two boneless breasts and a handmade buttermilk biscuit with charred Poblano butter, Serrano jelly and bourbon barrel-aged green hot; the Nashville Hot served with two boneless breasts, house pickles, Pop’s Slaw on thick cut brioche with a choice of Hot, XXX, Reaper, or Hellfire sauce; Whole Fried Game Hen comprised of four quartered bone-in game hen with Low-Country seasoning, buttermilk dressing, parsley, scallions and dill; or the Crispy Braised Dr Pepper Wings which include twelve whole wings served with a pomegranate-habanero BBQ, lime crema and cilantro. BOLD Summer
This August, Beverly Hills Conference & Visitors Bureau will bring to life its third annual BOLD Summer— a bi-annual event where Beverly Hills’ world-renowned fashion houses and one-of-a-kind local boutiques stay open late. BOLD Summer begins with an extravagant block party on Rodeo Drive and continues every Thursday – Saturday throughout the month with BOLD Summer programming aimed at enlivening Beverly Hills’ streets with nightlife and culture. To pay homage to the destinations iconic shopping heritage, Louis Vuitton Moet & Hennessy (LVMH) will have a pop-up shop names “Louis Vuitton X”. In addition to the extended shopping hours on BOLD Summer evenings, Beverly Hills Conference & Visitors Bureau will showcase the city’s unique art scene through and array of art activations including the unveiling of sculpture by world renowned artist Janet Echelman titled 1.78, that will be positioned above Santa Monica Boulevard in front of The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts. You will also find a live art experience by famous street artist, Mr. Brainwash, guided tours and panel discussions at popular art galleries like Galerie Michael and Gagosian on August 3 and August 17, and architectural tours of the City led by historian Phil Savenick.
