Santa Monica welcomes a restaurant with Executive Chef and Partner Brad Miller leading the kitchen and a name that pays homage to Miller’s father, Gary “Ox” Miller, a Chicago-based butcher who taught Miller the ropes in the butcher shop from age 15. The modern American restaurant has dark leather, upholstered chairs, wood-bound hostess stand, with each item of furniture custom designed by Bradford Lawson and Mark Mittleman to give the space a modern-yet-rustic ambience. The menu features appetizers of tapas-style plates like Mussel & Tomato Chorizo Poutine with 8hr Tomato Sauce, Yukon Fries, Cotija Cheese and Dillweed; Benton’s Ham and Corn Griddle Cake with Maple Butter and Pickled Onion; and Venison Sausage & Farm Egg with Fig Mustard, Endive and Shaved Asparagus, as well as a daily assortment of oysters, freshly shucked behind a glass-enclosed cold bar.
