The 4th Annual Burbank Beer Festival
The 4th Annual Burbank Beer Festival takes over the streets in Downtown Burbank from Magnolia Boulevard to Verdugo Avenue with three tasting areas, 85 craft beers on tap, a fall street fair, and a host of live entertainment. There will be two beer tasting sessions, with Session 1 from noon – 3 pm and Session 2 from 4 – 7 pm. In addition, the Burbank Beer Festival will include a free street fair with a variety of vendors that will be open to all. DJs and performers will provide entertainment throughout the festival with live musical performances taking place on the main stage located at San Fernando Boulevard and Olive Avenue. The Taste in Costa Mesa
The Los Angeles Times is bringing its inaugural Orange County edition of The Taste. The festival features Taco María chef Carlos Salgado, recipient of the Restaurant of the Year award, the Filipino cuisine of Irenia and responsibly sourced cuts from Electric City Butcher among a diverse collection of chefs and dishes. On Friday, from 6 – 9 pm, join in the opening event as chef Linda Johnsen (Filomena’s Italian Kitchen) shares her Italian roots through a demo of one of her signature dishes, while Santa Ana-raised chef Hop Phan (Dos Chinos) reveals the artistry behind his collaborative Vietnamese-Mexican cooking. Restaurants include Bluegold, Chronic Tacos, Coni’Seafood, Fill, Gunwhale Ales, LSXO, MFK by Aysee, Portola Coffee Roasters, Puesto, Silver Trumpet Restaurant and Bar, Tabu Shabu, Toast Kitchen & Bakery and Tokyo Table. The nationally celebrated vegan guru Chef Tal Ronnen will head up the judging panel as five teams of chefs compete in the 6th Annual Vegan Chili Cook Off at Tony’s Darts Away in Burbank. Joining Chef Ronnen at the judging table is Chef Caroline Concha of Beelman’s and Maggie Ortlieb, founder of VegOut LA.
