Think Pink at Lady M
Throughout the month of October, Lady M will be servings pink strawberry-flavored eclairs in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and will be donating 100% of the proceeds from October’s Pink Éclair sales to Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York. Like all of Lady M’s high-end confections, the Pink Eclairs are made with classic choux pastry dough, filled with fresh strawberry custard cream and baby pink chocolate, then topped with a light pink gaze. Stop in to one of Lady M’s three Southern California locations (West 3, Arcadia and Irvine) and pair the éclair with a pot of Sencha tea, a lovely Japanese green tea.

Day of the Dead at Border Grill
In the spirit of the Halloween season, Border Grill is serving up a Day of the Dead themed menu. Border Grill has Day of the Dead dishes including Ceviche Negro made with shrimp, scallops, squid ink, jicama, chipotle, and citrus marinade; Blood Sausage Tacos with pineapple-jicama salsa and queso fresca; and Pan De Muerto & Café De Olla with crème fraiche and hibiscus sauce, to name a few. Border Grill’s Day of the Dead cocktail tributes include Anthony Bourdain/El Mexicano made with aperol, El Silencio Mezcal, agave, and soda; Robin Leach/El Royale made with Chambord, champagne, topped with pomegranate seeds; Jonathan Gold/MariGOLD Margarita made with  Viva Reposado Tequila, Araceli Marigold liqueur, combier, fresh lime juice, agave, tajin, and garnished with micro marigoldl; and Joel Robuchon/Robuchon 75 made with Tres Gen Silver, lime juice, and champagne. Red Herring Launches New Happy Hour Menu
Eagle Rock’s neighborhood restaurant, Red Herring, just launched a brand new happy hour menu. Stop in for ½ off bottles of wine (on Tuesdays and Wednesdays) and made-from-scratch dishes from Chef Dave Woodall, including: Mushroom poutine with crispy Kennebec fries topped with mushroom confit (oyster, shiitake, maitake) and melted béchamel and gruyere cheese; Corndogs, three house-made andouille sausages, rolled in sweet corn batter and fried to puffy, golden perfection and served alongside whole grain mustard for dipping; and Pulled Pork Sliders, two huge sliders of applewood smoked duroc pork, crunchy pickles, cabbage slaw and tangy Carolina mustard sauce on a homemade milk bun. 1212 Santa Monica hosts MasterChef Season 6 runner-up Chef Derrick Fox for a one-night only, limited seating event featuring a Five-Course Pop-Up Dinner and optional Wine Pairing curated byDAOU Vineyards on Wednesday, October 17th, 2018 at 7:30 pm! Hotel Shangri-La Celebrates Breast Cancer Awareness Month
From October 18-31, visitors to the hotel can enjoy a refreshing pink cocktail while supporting breast cancer research. Available up on the roof at ONYX or downstairs in The Dining Room, 25% of proceeds of the Lychee Pomegranate Martini and the Rose Petal Martini (only available for October) will be donated to Santa Monica’s Margie Petersen Breast Center. Guests staying at Hotel Shangri-La during the month of October are invited to help support Breast Cancer Awareness Month with the Pink October add-on for $50.
