The Original Farmers Market at Third & Fairfax, The Grove and Outfest have partnered to present the second annual Pride Celebration featuring the music of the iconic band ABBA with a live performance and a special outdoor film screening. The evening is a part of the city’s ongoing Pride Month festivities. Groove to the sounds of Swedish Europop courtesy of the lively ABBA tribute band, AbbaFab, on the Farmers Market Plaza. Then, stroll on over to Gilmore Lane to enjoy a sunset screening of the hit musical comedy, Mamma Mia! (rated PG-13) starting at 8 pm. This Fourth of July, Pearl’s BBQ in DTLA is celebrating America’s red, white and blue with a good ol’ five-day Pearl’s BBQ 4th of July Texas Picnic celebration featuring live music, full bar, ice cold beer, games and the best southern barbecue west of Texas. They will have a handcrafted Texas smoker, plenty of white oak wood, certified angus beef and Pearl’s BBQ Pitmaster Dana Blanchard smoking some of the best barbecue in the City of Angels.Tito’s Vodka and Jack Daniels will be kicking off this patriotic celebration on Wednesday with a full bar to serve up your favorite bevvies. During Fourth of July weekend, feast on melt-in-your-mouth barbeque as Pearl’s BBQ delivers their 16 hour smoked brisket and 12 hour smoked beef short ribs rubbed with secret spices and served with sides. Wine Wednesday Sesh is a new workshop about the fundamentals of wine tasting and food pairing guided by leading L.A. Sommelier and Bone Kettle Wine Director Alexander Goldfisher. Inspired by his latest European wine tour, Goldfisher will impart the basics of wine pairing while embarking on eight flights of thirst-quenching White Wines served alongside a meticulously paired six-course tasting menu prepared by Executive Chef Erwin Tjahyadi featuring Bone Kettle favorites and new summer bites on Wednesday, June 27th, 2018 with a first seating at 7:00 pm and a second seating at 8:30 pm. Chef Miles Thompson and the Michael’s Santa Monica crew are debuting a new happy hour menu featuring shareable snacks + small plates such as “Animal Style” new potato fries, Sichuan dumplings with black vinegar and chili oil, marinated olives with fennel, and calamari with Nashville hot salt and chili-spiced pork fat. Miles will also introduce a limited-quantity “Muffuletta” (10 per night; available exclusively at the bar, first come first serve) featuring Peads & Barnetts Pork cured meats, mortadella, olive salad, provolone and Swiss on house-made focaccia.
