BAM Fest
Los Angeles’ art-full, craft beer event is back again! 18th Street Arts Center’s signature benefit event, BAM Fest (Beer Art & Music Festival), is better than ever with more contemporary art, music, 40+ craft breweries, 3 bands, open artist studios, artist vendors, and gourmet food trucks. Breweries include Firestone Walker Brewing Company, Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, HopSaint Restaurant and Brewing, and Santa Monica Brew Works. A special bonus for attendees will be the opportunity to participate in 20-minute mini-educational sessions called Crash Courses that will cover everything from beer and food pairing to how to make your own homebrew. And for those who prefer fermented grapes to hops there will also be an area to sample some of Southern California’s finest wines as well as home brewed sodas by Pacific Gravity Home Brewers Club. All proceeds benefit 18th Street Arts Center, a 26 year-old, influential non-profit arts organization in Santa Monica. Wally’s Beverly Hills‘ Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic Celebration
On Saturday, October 17, the sixth annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic, Los Angeles returns to Will Rogers State Historic Park. Before that happens, Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic is partnering with Wally’s Beverly Hills this weekend to kick-off the festivities. On Saturday, there will be a Veuve Clicquot Champagne tasting from 10 am-1 pm. The champagne tasting will include $1 samplings of a yellow label Veuve Clicquot as well as their rosé. Food samplings from will include Veuve Clicquot Polo Croque Monsier Tartine bites; Brillat Savarin with Truffle, Moser Truffle, and Delice de Pommard with Truffle cheeses; Grace & I Raspberry & Peach Champagne Jam and Matin Rose Petal Confit. Executive Chef David Feau will also have a special Polo Classic-inspired lunch option ($15): the Veuve Clicquot Polo Croque Monsier Tartine with aged emmental and cotto ham on country loaf with a side of baby greens and mushroom vinaigrette. Then, on Sunday from 11 am-3 pm, polo-themed specials for brunch ($48) by Executive Chef David Feau including toast with fleur de nuit cheese; Maine Lobster Thermidor with mâche and frisée salad; and Boneless Mary’s chicken jambonette with field mushroom fricassé and lemon verbena pan roasted cipolini onions. Carl Roberts, head of Wally’s Beverly Hills Bar Team, will pair the meal with the Wally’s Polo Cocktail with Hendrix gin, St. Germain liqueur, a splash of both orange and grapefruit juices and then topped off with Veuve Clicquot champagne. 6th Annual Taste of the Pier, King Harbor & Waterfront
For the past 6 years, the city of Redondo Beach has been celebrating the cuisine offered throughout the Redondo Beach Pier during their successful ‘Taste of the Pier’ event. The city Redondo Beach along with sponsors South Bay Land Rover and The Waterfront invites you to savor the best bites the pier has to offer while taking a self-guided walking tour. Pastry Chef Roxana Jullapat is Hosting LA’s BIGGEST Bake Sale!

DTLA Welcomes Bar Mattachine, its First Gay Bar
Bar Mattachine, the first gay craft cocktail bar in DTLA and it opens this weekend! The name comes from the Mattachine Society, founded in 1950 and created by Harry Hay. It’s one of the earliest gay rights organizations in the USA and it was built to protect and improve the rights of gay men. The two-story lounge, designed by Charlie Campbell, which is decorated in blacks and dark wood, offers two bars, cozy den-like nooks, a wrought-iron railed balcony that overlooks the main bar below and an open space perfect for dancing to live music or DJs. Front Porch Cinema
