Milo & Olive (2723 Wilshire Blvd., Santa Monica) is a new west side seasonal pizza cafe and bakery. The bakery portion opens November 18. Lunch and dinner service kicks off on December 1. This a cozy spot, seating only 26 at 2 communal tables and a dining counter. There will be no taking reservations, but everything will be available for pick up and takeaway.
The bakery opens at 7 am daily, and offers a few café style breakfast items such as free range frittatas with Weiser Farms potatoes & gioia ricotta, homemade bagels with various farmers market toppings, and whole loaf breads. Wash it all down with Verve Roasters coffee or espressos. From 11 am-11 pm each day the pizza side opens up with wood fired pizzas, farmers’ market inspired salads and small plates. The menu is rustic and seasonal with items like oven roasted pumpkin with brown butter & wildflower honey, fried squid with crispy lemons & calabrian chilis and pizza with house made sausage and braised bitter greens. While you enjoy your eats, watch the open kitchen in full swing.
