The Mezcaleria

The Mezcaleria (at Guelaguetza, 3014 W Olympic Blvd., Los Angeles, 90006; 213.427.0608) is soft opened in Guelaguetza, so if you come after 5 pm snag a spot at the concrete bar past the dining room and the stage. This spot is truly obsessed with  mezcals (tequila’s twin). There are 50 to try. Some are sweeter, some are smokier. Or you can just get the one with a scorpion inside. And be nice to the bartender, she has a slew of bottles she’s not selling, but she’ll pour a taste for friends. Officially open October 15th.
