Marina Spooktacular@ Burton Chace Park
This two-day festival on the Los Angeles waterfront with costume contests, participatory dance events, arts & crafts, and more. Daytime activities are kid-friendly, but when night falls, the park evolves into a field of frights with tours of L.A:s only haunted pirate ships, recommended for brave souls age 13 and up. San Pedro Día de los Muertos Festival
Enjoy San Pedro’s historic downtown, cocktails, authentic Mexican fare, and musical performances by two-time Grammy- award winning Mariachi Divas, celebrated local headliners Kotolan,  and Salt Petal, and many more. New for 2018, the festival will debut the Jose Cuervo Tradicional Tequila Garden, serving signature cocktails created with Tradicional, the original tequila made from 100% blue agave. Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas”
Danny Elfman returns to the Hollywood Bowl to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. Carrera de los Muertos is a 5k run that honors Day of the Dead. Remember loved ones that have passed in this rich cultural tradition. The course runs through lower Chinatown and then takes a left turn onto Alameda Street towards Los Angeles State Historic Park.  Traditions include face painting to resemble skulls, decorating altars with bright orange marigold flowers, candles, photos and other memorabilia. There will be an official Runners Altar for participants to decorate and a post race, finish line festival honoring art, music and community. Noche de Ofrenda
Grand Park partners with Self-Help Graphics & Art and Lore Media & Arts for the sixth year to present a traditional Noche de Ofrenda ceremony honoring the dead and featuring prayer led by the local indigenous community. The evening will include performances by traditional dancers representing the Aztecan, Oaxacan and Michoacán traditions, as well as Los Angeles-based poets and musicians. The event, which will unveil a master altar that invites contributions from the entire community, kicks off the official unveiling of Grand Park’s Día de los Muertos altars and art installations developed by local artists and community groups. Día de los Muertos at Grand Park
Celebrates the traditions of Día de los Muertos with multiple ways to experience and learn about the holiday. In partnership with Self-Help Graphics & Art and Lore Media & Art, the park will present 50 altars and art installations created by local artists and community groups that reflect the theme Looking to the Past to Build the Future. Día de los Muertos at Hollywood Forever Cemetery
Hollywood Forever Cemetery presents the 19th annual Día de los Muertos festival. This year’s festival honors Coatlicue, the Aztec “Mother of Gods” who gave birth to the moon, stars, and the sun. View more than 100 altars created to honor ancestors and loved ones. The Hollywood Crawl of Fame III: Red, White, and Green Halloween
MiniBar Hollywood GM and Bartender Jeremy Allen will be leading a bar crawl starting at MiniBar, and progressing to Ever Bar, Lost Property, and a few other Hollywood spots. A portion of the ticket price will be donated to legal services non-profit organization Al Otro Lado. The Waterfront Venice Opens
Following an extensive months-long renovation, The Waterfront re-emerges on the Venice Beach boardwalk as an all-day cafe, sit-down restaurant, lounge and beer garden. Soul Food Pop-Up
Authentic soul food comes to Fairfax’s Little Ethiopia neighborhood every Sunday. The Soul Food pop up is brought to you by the chefs of Annie’s Edibles, an LA-based catering company with clients ranging from the NFL network and Nike to TMZ. Founder Annalisa Johnson says she wants her new Sunday pop up to be a place where neighbors, friends, family, and strangers can come by for “funk music, fried chicken and a hug.” Meat dishes range from traditional items such as oxtails and gravy, and shrimp and grits, to modern takes on the classics including habanero honey fried chicken, and short rib french fries. Each entree comes with three sides, with you choosing from a menu of mac and cheese, candied yams, cornbread dressing, greens with smoked turkey, black eyed peas, or red beans with smoked meat.
