When the twelve year old morphs into a thirty-something overnight, he has some catching up to do. It’s Tom Hanks at his most endearing with some of the best, beloved scenes in movie history, not to mention the coolest piano playing. The cult wonder celebrates its 50th anniversary! Outer Space has never been more sultry than this sci-fi movie that features Jane Fonda! Galaxies collide when an agent searches space for a missing inventor capable of destruction in a utopian space life. There will be special surprise guests, DJs and musical performances. LACMA Muse ‘til Midnight
LACMA’ Muse ’til Midnight event is an immersive late-night museum experience that draws inspiration from current exhibition 3D: Double Vision. The evening includes a musical lineup curated by DUBLAB, featuring performances by Visible Cloaks, Jacques Greene, Asmara (Nguzunguzu) and more. Additionally, special site-specific sound and visual installations will be on view. Halo Top Scoop Shop Celebrates its Third Store Opening
Halo Top Creamery celebrates its third Scoop Shop opening at The Grove with the launch of a visual wonderland dedicated to celebrating some of its iconic pint flavors, including Birthday Cake, Rainbow Swirl and Strawberry. Long Beach’s culinary community has come together to help support Steel Magnolias signature event, Bon Appétaste, a celebration of food, wine and spirits. Bon Appétaste features four award-winning chefs, including Pete Lehmar of Gladstone’s, Raquel Jubran of Lasher’s Kitchen, Louise Solzman of Table 301 and Andre Angles of Thai District, conducting cooking demos throughout the evening. Lucques’ Rib Fest
Suzanne Goin and Caroline Styne present their 18th annual barbecue event featuring a feast of slow-cooked ribs, hot wings, and sides.
