Why wouldn’t Angelenos want to bring in the New Year in beach attire?! Putting its own spin on Canada’s “Polar Bear Plunge,” the rink invites you to grab your sunglasses and swimsuit to “dive in,” for the City’s most exciting New Year’s Day Pershing Square tradition. Skaters of all ages are invited to dress in beach attire and skate to the beat of DJ HowLy’s tunes for an invigorating welcome to 2017. $1000 in cash prizes will be awarded for theme, originality and overall appearance. 128th Rose Parade
For more than a century, people have been welcoming the new year with the Tournament of Roses’ iconic Rose Parade and Rose Bowl Game in Pasadena. The 128th Rose Parade features floral floats, marching bands, and equestrian units for five miles down Colorado Boulevard. This year, catch the new 24 Hour Fitness 55- foot long float. The “Do More with Your 24” TM float will represent the endless ways 24 Hour Fitness helps people succeed at living their best lives each day, and will feature towering athletic figures as well as live team members performing a coordinated fitness routine as the float travels the parade route.
