Picnik, (168 W Colorado Blvd., Pasadena, CA 91105) the sausage pub by Eduardo Ruiz opened in March. Picnik has now debuted Punch, a speakeasy bar inside Picnik. Founded by Robin Chopra and Darwin Manahan, who are also behind the bar at Corazon y Miel, created the space for lounge service. The spot has one counter for making modern twists on, you guessed it, punch classics from the 1600s-1800s.
In addition to classic punches, there’s also aperitifs and digestifs for before or after a meal at Picnik. Currently open Thursday & Friday evenings, 7 pm-12 am, with reservations highly recommended (text 626.639.8169). Walk-ins are also welcome, but they get packed quickly.
