The Powder Room (1606 N Cahuenga Blvd., Hollywood, 90028; 323.469.5001) is Cahuenga’s new intimate spot for you to hit up for creative cocktails from The Libertine Group which includes Luke Andes (Providence) and John Arakaki (St Felix). They are using ingredients like cardamom-rosemary syrup, pink-peppercorn infused tequila, mint, and green tea in their delicious cocktails and boozy milkshakes. The incredible adult concoctions that are a dessert and a buzz in one come in flavors called Strawberry Fields (Marilyn Monroe strawberry cream vodka, fresh strawberry puree, brandy, shortcake cookies and tapioca pudding) and Adam’s Apple (Jack Daniels blended with fresh apples caramelized with cinnamon, nutmeg and cayenne pepper and vanilla ice cream). Either one, you will be happy. Or get both; we won’t judge.
As for cocktails, my favorites with The Pink Pussycat with tequila, cherry liquor, Champagne, lemon juice and strawberry puree; and the refreshing Chasing Summer with gin, cardamom rosemary syrup and fresh squeezed lime juice. The decor is a great mix of modern and rustic with redwood through out, a gothic door, library style ladder to reach the high spirits, and a neon lit bar. High roller?
