Bruce Lurie Gallery, the only fine arts gallery in the Pacific Palisades, until it burned down during January’s fires, is hosting its first solo show at its new location in Santa Monica. The exhibition “Grit and Grace” highlights the work of contemporary abstract painter Michael Gorman, an L.A.-based artist with a remarkable personal story. Originally trained as an architect and a former Navy cryptologist, Gorman brings an unusual background to his work. Since relocating, Bruce Lurie is excited to present Gorman’s work as the gallery’s first major show. Thanks to community support from fellow Palisades residents, Lurie reopened his space in Santa Monica just three months after the fires.
