In celebration of its 100th anniversary, The Culver Hotel proudly unveils an exciting new menu that blends old Hollywood glamour with the innovative spirit of Los Angeles’ contemporary culinary scene.
The Menu Embodies the Fun and Nostalgia of Classic Hollywood Dining
Launching 3/21, the reimagined menu brings a fresh take on classic dishes, elevating iconic staples with a distinctly Californian flair and tableside touches. Highlights include Mediterranean Sea Bass, American Wagyu Tartare, Truffle and Caviar Deviled Eggs, Shrimp Cocktail with Housemade Brown Butter Saltines, and my personal favorite, the Crab Louie Salad – made with Soft Shell Crab! The hotel’s beverage program continues the historic journey with creative twists on signature drinks, such as the Culver Martini, the Ruby Red Slipper, and the whimsical Listen Glinda. A chic mahogany and brass cart adds a playful, elegant touch, offering guests made-to-order cocktails from a selection of premium gins and vodkas.

“We are thrilled to debut a menu that captures the essence of our 100-year legacy as we celebrate our past, present and future” said Maya Mallick, Owner and Creative Director of The Culver Hotel. “Our new menu is the perfect way to honor our Centennial year, blending classic charm with a modern flair. After all, classic is cool.”

Crafted under the leadership of Proper Hospitality’s Executive Culinary Director Umit Kaygusuz, and Executive Chef Diana Khngikyan, the menu showcases locally sourced, seasonal ingredients while honoring the fundamentals of French culinary techniques to ensure every dish remains fresh, timeless and distinctive. A charcoal grill gives seabass a smoky finish, enhancing its delicate flavor and adding depth to every bite. Mushroom au Poivre, prepared with homemade cashew cream, celebrates Los Angeles’ thriving vegan scene with an indulgent touch. Art Deco-inspired presentations pay homage to the hotel’s history while reflecting a modern aesthetic.

“This menu embodies the fun and nostalgia of classic Hollywood dining. It’s about creating comfort in a beautiful setting—where you can enjoy life with a martini in one hand and a burger in the other.” – Chef Diana Khngikyan
Setting the Scene
In the Grand Lobby and Crystal Room, diners will immerse themselves in an enchanting setting complete with vintage decor. The space perfectly captures old Hollywood glamour with its antique pieces, cut crystal, and marble accents that exude timeless elegance. For those wishing to dine al fresco, the menu is also available on the garden patio, a more casual setting under the flowering trees in Culver City’s main pedestrian plaza. Period-inspired server styling adds to the charm, while the attentive service remains elevated and welcoming—true to the hotel’s roots and its storied history.

Exclusive Events and Culinary Programming
As part of its year-long Centennial celebration, The Culver Hotel will debut a series of exclusive events and culinary programming, including communal dinner parties, afternoon tea, weekly jazz performances, and Harry’s Hour—a new happy hour named in honor of the hotel’s trailblazing founder. The Dinner Party series will bring the hotel’s innovative menu to life through live music, curated partnerships, and immersive monthly themes.
For a century, The Culver Hotel has been a place for guests to gather, host and celebrate all kinds of events. It is also a favorite place for holidays and weddings. With these new experiences, the hotel remains a vibrant destination where culture and creativity meet. Every detail of the Centennial celebration strikes a balance between nostalgia and modern sophistication—much like the hotel itself.
