Variety show Lucha VaVOOM is serving up Mexican masked wrestling, burlesque, comedy and music in honor of Cinco de Mayo. The long running variety show will kick off at 4:00 pm with a live dance party on their Instagram (@luchavavoom). The Cinco de Mayan Streaming Party is next and starts at 5:00 pm on the We Are Hear’s official YouTube channel.

For those who want to exercise their culinary skills, try this tasty guacamole recipe. Pair it with chips or veggies and an ice cold Corona or Dos Equis.

Guacamole Recipe

  • 3 avocados – peeled, pitted, and mashed
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup diced onion
  • 3 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
  • 2 roma (plum) tomatoes, diced
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 pinch ground cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Cotija cheese crumbles for garnish (optional)
  • In a medium bowl, mash together the avocados, lime juice, and salt. Mix in onion, cilantro, tomatoes, and garlic. Stir in cayenne pepper. Refrigerate 1 hour for best flavor, garnish and serve.
