Eat Good Food, Have a Drink and Lounge Out at The Conference Room

Playa Vista is the home of the technology industry for So Cal. It is also the home to the Conference Room, the newest restaurant from the founders of Big Fat Pita, Rodini Park and Hash Restaurant. The Conference Room is the perfect place to “Just hang loose… Eat good food, have a drink and lounge out.”

Named for its resemblance to an actual conference room, this chic, contemporary eatery is similar in size to that of a standard board room. Replace the conference table and chairs with warm chocolate brown booths and sleek lounge chairs, and you have a haven for professionals to escape their workday stresses.

Chef Miguel Aliaga guarantees an elevated dining experience with his extensive cultural background in Peruvian, Italian and Mexican cuisines. The lunch menu consists of delicious Buttermilk Fried Chicken and Chips, Lamb Meat-A-Ball, and an array of salads including Mixed Greens, Roasted Beets, Baby Gems and a Yellowfin Tuna Salad. The lunch menu also features a Banh-Mi Shrimp Roll, Grilled Cheese Deluxe, Lamb or beef Burgers, and for vegetarians, a Beyond Beef Link on a toasted bun. Pastas and flatbreads are also available. A favorite is Chef Miguel’s Lasagna – a recipe passed down to him from his grandmother. Chef Miguel hand makes the spinach pasta and combines it with a veal & pork bolognese, bechamel sauce, tomato sauce and crispy basil. This dish is absolutely fabulous. Flatbreads are equally delicious and guests can order a cauliflower crust in place of traditional pizza dough. The Conference Room main plates offer a chicken dish called Chicken Pallare, a Falafel Crusted Salmon, Fish & Chips, and Eggs in Purgatory – eggs baked in spicy ragu, feta and, parsley served over potatoes au gratin with toasted bread.

The dinner menu adds mouthwatering octopus to the starters. The chef prepares it Mediterranean style with cherry tomatoes, and red vinegar grilled over potato. Simply put, this dish is a must order. Chef Miguel outdoes himself with the dinner pastas. Try the Broccoli Ravioli, Semolina Gnocchi Tartufo, Paccheri Bolognese and my favorite, the Spaghetti Lobster. Cherry tomatoes, fresh basil and pasta smothered in a heavenly lobster bisque. The Fresh Mozzarella and Fig Jam flatbreads are joined by a Crimini Mushroom and a Broccoli Salsiccia. Main plates offer a wonderful Branzino, tender Ribeye, Espresso Braised Short Rib, Lamb Salgado, Mary’s Chicken, Lamb Shank, Cauliflower Steak and the popular Chicken Loves Waffles.  Cauliflower/potato mash, creamy greens, and fries – seasoned or smothered Americano, Asian or Mediterranean can be added to any meal as a side.

For those of you coming in only for drinks and conversation, the Dips and Chips are the perfect compliment to a glass of wine or an ice cold beer on tap.

In an effort to support local artists, on Tuesdays and Fridays, The Conference Room  will host live music. Smooth Jazz is the main event on Tuesdays while Acoustics will be played on Fridays.

The Conference Room invites you to “Listen to the music… Enjoy the vibe… stay for a while.” Monday – Friday 9 am – 9 pm, Saturday 5 pm – 11 pm, Sunday closed; 12181 Bluff Creek Dr, Ste A1, Playa Vista, CA 90094; 310.862.6436
