A Midsummer Night’s Dream

The Kimpton Everly will be hosting its second annual Shakespeare on the Deck’s. This time, the play has an LGBT focused storyline. Director Mikey Mulhearn will stage a unique, interactive performance, transforming the Everly’s rooftop space into the vibrant club “DRØM,” where the runaway lovers go to meet, gender-defying fairies dispute and hard-working women rehearse a play. Art Beyond the Glass VIII

Now celebrating its eighth year, Art Beyond the Glass VIII will feature more than 100 top bartenders making cocktails and showcasing their artistry, from painting and sculpture to photography, live music and more, all while benefitting Beautify Earth! Hosted by Ria Soler and Josh Gelfand, ABTG VIII is taking place at Los Globos which is being donated to ABTG for the third consecutive year. Beautify Earth is putting an end to blighted walls and fixtures by empowering artists, encouraging social responsibility, and instilling community pride in impoverished or neglected communities, streets, walls and fixtures. Beautify Earth also provides education programs designed to inspire and provide a framework for undiscovered talent to flourish. ABTG is an event that showcases the artistic pursuits of bartenders outside of their bars. At ABTG, everything from the cocktails to the art and music is created and performed by bartenders. Art Beyond the Glass has also grown into a national event. Artists participating in this year’s ABTG VIII include Anna Wingfield (Employees Only), Elizabeth Brice-Heames (Apotheke), Joel “Teknyc” Martinez (Madame Siam), and Peter Lloyd Jones (Everson Royce Bar). Beer Art Fair and Contest

19th Annual Main Street Summer Soulstice

This third-annual all-day yoga and arts festival is returning to Los Angeles State Historic Park. Birdie G’s Opens

The long-anticipated dining destination from the Rustic Canyon Family and James Beard-nominated Chef/Owner Jeremy Fox soft opens this Friday within Santa Monica’s historic Bergamot Station. Named after Jeremy’s daughter Birdie and grandmother Gladys, this classic restaurant showcases his playful interpretation of rustic European fare.
