6th & La Brea has officially launched lunch! Enjoy forward-thinking lunch menu offerings with vegan and non-vegan favorites like the KFC Sandwich with crispy chicken cutlet, sweet chili glaze, pickles and slaw; the Bahn Mi, available vegan/non-vegan with either pork belly or tofu, pickled daikon and carrot, pickles, herbs and fermented hot sauce; and rice bowls with options like Seared Salmon, Braised Short Rib, and Marinated Tofu. Celebrate Día de los Muertos with taco Thursday! Toca Madera has tacos with fillings like Carne Asada, skirt steak topped with sweet pepper, smoke guajillo sauce, and cotija cheese or Adashah Lettuce Wraps filled with a vegan lentil-based protein, butter lettuce, avocado mojo, corn relish, radish, and vegan mozzarella. Toast with a *spooky* cocktail, the Los Muertos with avion reposado, blood orange, lime juice, hibiscus, and activated charcoal agave and of course plenty of margaritas to go around! Toca Madera will be hosting a fire breather, flamenco guitarist, and stilt walkers all face-painted with the traditional sugar skull makeup. Day of the Dead Art Class & Xibalba Bottle Release
In honor of Día de los Muertos, they are releasing bottles of our sour chocolate stout, Xibalba, as well as hosting an art making class by local artist Nuke. You will be working with charcoal, color pastels, and sugar skulls stencils, and you will be able to take home your piece of art. Not to mention, we will provide you with a flight of three tasters for artistic inspiration. Timberland Brings Urban Greening Initiative to Los Angeles;
1, 100 volunteers from Timberland, Journeys and the Student Conservation Association will join forces to transform a vacant lot in Little Green Acres Park into a thriving community garden for local residents to enjoy for generations to come. This is one of three urban greening events taking place this fall – the others being in Chicago and New York City – to fulfill the third year of Timberland’s five-year commitment to create or restore green spaces in urban landscapes.
