Summer Solstice at Michael’s On Naples
The restaurant welcomes Sicilian Winemakers Alberto Graciof Mount Etna and Salvatore Geraci from Italy to Long Beach’s Naples Island for a special five-course pairing dinner. Both winemakers will meet, greet and mingle, discussing their wines’ flavor profiles and nuances. Alberto Graci of Mount Etna is a third generation winemaker. Salvatori Geraci is an architect-turned-vintner and owner of the Messina-area cult winery Palari. Chef Eric Samaniego will create a menu selections that will pair with the following wines: Etna Rosato, an organic Rose made with 100% Nerello Mascalese grapes; Etna Bianco “Arcuria,” a dry white wine made with a blend of Carricante and Cataratto; Etna Rosso Graci Feudo di Mezzo, a red blend made from Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio; Rosso del Soprano from the House of Palari, a red blend of local native varietals inspired by a century-old blend; and Palari’s Faro, a dry red blend with dominant varietals, including Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio with smaller quantities of Nocera, Cappuccio Tignolino, Acitana, Galatena and Calabrese. $100; Wednesday, 6:30 pm; 5620 E. 2nd St, Long Beach, CA; 562.439.7080
