The Bellwether Celebrates Negroni Week
The Bellwether is hosting an unofficial version of Negroni Week. They have partnered with the local charity Boxer Rescue L.A.  Every $3 per Negroni sold will be donated to Boxer Rescue L.A., with dogs to play with on the restaurant’s outdoor patio tonight, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday – careful, you may end up going home with one for adoption! Michael’s On Naples Celebrates Negroni Week
Today the restaurant  kicks-off Negroni Week with 10 Negroni-based cocktails with $1 from every Negroni purchase benefitting the Paws Foundation, a non-profit animal rescue organization. Harbor House Opens
Partners Beau Laughlin and Steve Edwards of Assembly Group unveil the reimagined downtown lobby with Harbor House at the Wedbush Center. Mornings begin with healthful options like grab-and-go acai bowls and fresh market quiches, or sticky buns and apricot-pistachio scones from the pastry collaboration with Suzanne Goin’s Larder Bakery Co. There’s also an all-day Stumptown coffee bar, Clover cold-pressed juices, and loose leaf teas by Art of Tea. Lunchtime has a range of hearty salads, like the Poached Salmon Salad with spicy greens and goat cheese and sandwiches like The Greenhouse with hummus, feta, sprouts, carrot slaw, avocado and tzatziki on an organic spinach tortilla and Grilled Cheese with Vermont cheddar and garlic cheese, pepperoncini. For dinner, mains include salmon or steak frites, done with chimichurri. Starters and items to share include fresh oysters, charcuterie & cheese boards, ceviche, chilled jumbo shrimp, and decadent Weiser Farms loaded potatoes. Happy hour means a west coast wine list and 20 beers on tap. Cascabel Taco Shop Opens
Drawing on the success of his two nearby Toluca Lake dinning destinations, Chef Alex Eusebio opens Cascabel Taco Shop. Onepulse Foundation Commemorates one Year Anniversary of Pulse Nightclub Tragedy
David Cooley, owner of The Abbey Food & Bar, and Barbara Poma, owner of Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, announced a fundraiser for the onePULSE Foundation recognizing the one-year mark of the Pulse Nightclub tragedy on June 12, 2016. Several survivors will be at the event to share their stories at The Chapel, adjacent to The Abbey. The event begins with a cocktail reception followed by a seated multi-course dinner with Ketel One cocktails. Tickets are limited to 125 people and 100% of ticket sales go to onePULSE Foundation. Following the dinner, at 9:30 pm at The Abbey, will be a special charity drag show, which is open to all. Donations will be accepted at the door at The Abbey and throughout the evening.  The show will be hosted by Allusia with performances by Sasha Colby, Jessica Wild, Misty Violet, Barbie’s Addiction, Calypso Jette and more performers to be announced, some of which performed at Pulse Nightclub.  Limited reserved seating for the show is also available online here. OutFest
This 11-day film festival showcases more than 150 LGBT film screenings across six venues throughout the city, as well as panels and parties celebrating the queer experience. Angel City Brewery is proud to sponsor OutFest for the 3rd year in a row and will be pouring Angel City classics such as IPA, LAger, Pilsner and Citrus Wheat at the opening gala and various events throughout the festival.
