Björk Digital
Dive into the world of Björk during the West Coast premiere of this exhibition. Expect six virtual reality works displayed in a succession of rooms, which feature music from her latest album, Vulnicura. OFF THE 405
The 2017 season kicks off this weekend with Los Angeles electronic pop artist Nite Jewel, who brings her dance floor hits and celebrates the release of her new album Real High. Up next, on June 10, is the multi-faceted musician Tim Presley, who updates his ‘60s-influenced brand of psychedelic rock with a punk and garage edge. Performing on June 24, La Luz’s brings lo-fi doo-wop. Taking the stage July 29, acclaimed New York-based singer-songwriter Steve Gunn brings his guitar-forward rock to the courtyard stage with a signature blend of country blues and underground. On August 26, ‘70s nostalgia band Savoy Motel comes to the Getty with an orchestrated hybrid of glam rock, soul, and southern boogie. Venice Family Clinic’s Art Walk & Auctions
This annual fundraiser benefitting the Venice Family Clinic features live music, a craft beer and wine garden, and art exhibitions, as well as artisan booths, an Imagination Station for children, gourmet food, and a Barking Lot for dogs. Artist studio tour tickets are also available. Save Our Souls Pop-Up
Save Our Souls (SOS) is a community-based nonprofit organization addressing the harsh reality of homelessness in the Greater Los Angeles community. SOS’s mission is to aid and empower men, woman, and children living in displacement across Los Angeles. To support and bring awareness to local non-profit Community Assistance Resource Team (CART), SOS has brought together artists to create a one-of-a-kind pop-up gallery. Sorenity Rocks Malibu will be open the public and feature surprise guest DJs throughout the weekend. The Whiskey Lounge at miro Restaurant will host a culinary and beverage experience in celebration of World Whisky Day. The first-ever EEEEEATSCON is coming from The Infatuation. The Infatuation is a website, newsletter, mobile app, and series of Instagram accounts, all designed to help you find the perfect restaurant for any situation. Filifera Opens
The new rooftop bar and lounge on the 23rd story of Hollywood Proper Residences, is now open to the public by reservation only via Resy.com. Designed by Kelly Wearstler and operated by Proper Hospitality, the new Hollywood hideaway has a swimming pool with plush private cabanas, indoor and outdoor dining areas, and a bar with sweeping views of the iconic Capitol Records building, Hollywood Sign, and Griffith Park Observatory.
