Joy the Baker Celebrates Release of Over Easy with two Los Angeles Book Signing Events
Self-taught baker and food photographer Joy Wilson is behind the popular food blog Joy the Baker, which was launched in 2008. Joy is celebrating the release of her third cookbook, Over Easy, with two events in Los Angeles. Over Easy explores Joy’s favorite savory and sweet brunch recipes in celebration of one of the most decadent and leisurely of meals.The first event will take place at Hedley & Bennett, where you can join Joy and Ellen “The Apron Lady” as they unveil a special edition collaboration: A Joy the Baker x Hedley & Bennett apron! Mingle with Joy as she signs her new book. Brunch snacks and wine will also be served. The second event will take place at the Williams Sonoma store in Beverly Hills on Monday, April 3. Bottlefish‘s Brunch
Brentwood’s hottest new seafood spot, Bottlefish, is launching brunch this weekend. With an extensive bar program and a beautiful outdoor patio with lounge seating and a succulent wall, the restaurant is West LA’s newest spot for springtime brunching. Beauty & Essex Opens
The 10,000 square-foot space from TAO Group is now open in the Dream Hotel complex in Hollywood. This is the third location for this restaurant that has other restaurants i=in New York and Las Vegas. Celebrity chef Chris Santos is behind the menu that features signature international dishes like grilled cheese and tomato soup dumplings, tuna poke wonton tacos, oven-braised chicken meatballs and tomato tartare. You enter through a working pawn shop off the alley on Selma. Prank Opens
Dave Whitton is bringing Prank, a new cocktail bar to DTLA. Executive Chef Ricardo Sanchez is behind the kitchen, turning out healthy, non-GMO menu items to pair with Whitton’s choice of a cannabis terpene cocktail, wine, or beer. The Ricki Kline designed space features a walk-up bar that gives you the chance to drink and dine with the sun or on a warm night. There’s also live music and a karaoke booth.
