Tortilla Republic West Hollywood Launches Short N’ Sweet and Relax & Rita Menus
These menus are perfect for hurried professionals as well as diners with time to spare. The Short N’ Sweet ($15) option has a Salsa Trio or Guacamole followed by a main course, like the Quesadilla de Hongos/Mushroom with cremini & oyster mushrooms, roasted shallots, baby arugula, Monterey Jack, Manchego cheese, and white truffle oil; and Pollo/Chicken Torta with crispy breaded chicken breast, black beans, chipotle aioli, cheddar cheese, cilantro crema, and guacamole. The restaurant guarantees to provide the Short N’ Sweet menu to guests in a dash within fifteen minutes, from the time they order, for up to four people. If this timing is not met, lunch will be complimentary. Four young chefs will compete in a rigorous cooking competition to earn trainings at some of the nation’s most well-respected restaurants. Designed to recognize outstanding young professionals in America, the Young Chef Competition series is spearheaded by Board of Directors Jérôme Bocuse, Daniel Boulud, and Thomas Keller. In addition to prepared food from Bouchon Beverly Hills and fine wines from Galerie and Mt. Angel City Brewery’HOWL-o-ween Party
Pet retailer Pussy & Pooch has teamed up with Angel City for an evening of Halloween fun for pets and their humans. The party, which will be hosted in the brewery’s newly refurbished Beer Hall, features live music, treats for tricks, and of course a dog costume contest. For one ticket, you will receive a beer and bites from Southern Fried Vegan. The Oyster Gourmet Opens at The Grand Central Market
Christophe Happillon, Los Angeles’ only Master Ecailler (shellfish master) known for his pop-up oyster bars at Joe’s, Akasha, Church & State, Perch and Le Zinque, will open his first restaurant -The Oyster Gourmet- at Grand Central Market in DTLA. It’s a front-row seat to watch Happillon artfully prepare oysters and other delicacies at a circular raw bar encased in a giant mechanical oyster. With 14 counter seats and take-out, the stand will offer ecologically sustained seafood focused on oysters but also including mussels, scallops, clams and sea urchin.
