Bowery Bungalow

Bowery Bungalow (4156 Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90029; 323.663.1500) is from the Delancey and Urban Garden Owner and they are serving up Reubens along with baby back ribs, starting today. You can expect an interior filled with a ton of textures from a brick bar to subway tile, raw wooden walls, baby blue leather booths, and a tin ceiling, this place has it all. Other accents include vintage enamelware lighting and antique copper beer taps.

As for the menu, the vegetable and cheese section includes Mini Mezze with sumac-dusted radish, French feta & Za’atar, spiced aubergine, fried chickpeas & coriander, Mediterranean olives; roast Jerusalem artichokes with Medjool date jus; babaganoush; roasted beets, French feta, hazelnuts, sumac, Sorrel; Za’atar Bruschetta; and roast cauliflower with toasted Egyptian Dukkah, tahini, cilantro.

In the meat section you will find smoked lamb belly with spiced pomegranate jelly; turmeric fried rice with chicken, organic egg, chickpeas, golden raisins, almonds; “Reuben” Sandwich with Anatolian dried beef, Mediterranean sheep cheese, braised cabbage, black caraway, aleppo pepper oil; baby back ribs with Mideast spice rubbed, Turkish coffee, grape molasses; slow cooked lamb, Ras El Hanout, garden Za’atar, Freekeh with root vegetables & grilled persimmon; and Shishkatori – Mideast-seasoned shish kebobs served in traditional Japanese Yakitori style & cooked over hardwood Binchotan coals.

For fish, order up smoked trout & Lebanese olives with horseradish-herbed Lebneh; Deep Fried Whole Snapper; and Mussels with garbanzo beans, saffron, dil, aleppo, and arak.

Finish off your meal with something sweet like Konafah, Soledad goat cheese, ricotta, sweet cheese; Cardamom rice pudding with persimmon, honey, and vanilla bean; and Chocolate & Halva cake, sesame, pistachio, rosewater & honey granita.

As for drinks, they have 10 rare beers like apricot-brewed cider and white sage beer, along with a small wine list.
