Stafford + Mathis Kitchen

Stafford + Mathis Kitchen (1020 S Figueroa Los Angeles, 90015; 213.743.7600) is the new restaurant within the Luxe City Center Hotel. Named after it’s two part menu where there’s a traditional (Stafford) side and an adventurous (Mathis) side, chef Michael Chavez-Martinez is behind the kitchen.

Some items you will find on the interesting (Mathis) side include bone marrow with pork jam, bacon glace, brioche, tomato powder and a 61°F egg; Ravioli with Pork cheek, lardons, squash, tomato, jus, and micro green; and tenderloin tartare with yuzu kosho, soy, black garlic, and a quail egg. On the safer (Stafford) side of things, nosh on caramelized onion soup; linguini with clams, garlic and white wine; and Meatball Crostini.
