For those who have been to Los Balcones on DeLongpre and Vine, you know why it has become the spot to go to for authentic Peruvian for the past nine years. Fresh off their redesigning, the Rodriguez brothers are pleased to welcome everyone to the new space, new menu, and now a full bar, featuring classic and unique cocktails, including a “Build Your Own Pisco” experience to satiate any craving. The menu is expansive, including its classics and introducing some new modernized ones. It’s separated as Rapiditos (quick bites) , Small Plates, Favoritos de Cocina (chef’s favorites), Balcones Grande (big plates), Salads and a Soup, and Sides. The ceviches and tiraditos are a must in the Small Plates, and of course the Peruvian staple Lomita al Jugo. Not authentic enough for you? You can take it up with the Rodriguez family, who tasted and approved each and every dish. The final touch is the redesigned space, which now opens up on Vine Street with an outdoor patio, completely changing the dynamic and creating a nice haven from Hollywood traffic. If you’re feeling nostalgic, it’s another great reason to cozy up to the bar – the rafters from the old ceiling were reclaimed and used to make the signature bar top.
