LYFE Kitchen, (9540 Culver Blvd., Culver City, 90232) is a Chicago-based healthy quick serve concept from former McDonald’s Corp. CEO, Mike Roberts. Each dish is from former Oprah Winfrey personal chef Art Smith and vegan chef Tal Ronnen and contains under 600 calorie. This “lifestyle restaurant” brings together natural ingredients with sustainable practices.
The 7,280-square-foot restaurant incorporates a living wall made from 25 different herbs, hydroponic garden wall, and eco-friendly elements from LED lighting to zero VOC paint. So far management has partnered with Thorne Family Farm, Weiser Family Farms, and Kenter Canyon Farms with more to come.
Calorie counts and milligrams of sodium are listed next to each menu item and if you see an “n” icon, then you know it has nuts. Separate gluten-free and vegan menus are available, too. Prices are pretty low, with breakfast around $6 and the most expensive lunch/dinner entree being $14.99. There’s also red and white wine from $8-10 per glass.
