After a year of developing and 15 years of planning, Silver Lake Meadow (Silver Lake Boulevard and Armstrong) is open! It’s more of “A Quiet Place,” intended for outdoor leisure, relaxation, and gathering rather than organized sports. It’s open from dawn to dusk and families are already making it their summer dinner and kite flying spot. The surrounding hills and trees of Silverlake made the park isolated from the other areas of the city. Plans for a pedestrian crosswalk are in the works and there is a jogging trail to get in some of you summer exercise.
Los Feliz Municipal Golf Course, (3207 Los Feliz Blvd., Atwater Village) is available for $7! You can have a great day playing nine holes while sipping on Coronas with a couple of friends. This is a less serious course, where people are just having a relaxing, fun weekend game. Plus after your round (golf game and beers), head out to the the neighborhood and grab some food and drinks in the local spots.
