Hutchinson Cocktails & Grill (826 N La Cienega Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90069; 310.360.0884) is a new Indonesian restaurant with dark woods, earthy tones, fish-trap lamps, graphic batik casts and leather tufted booths.
There’s a Red Medicine vet behind the bar making White Russians with coffee liqueur, coconut cream, mezcal, vodka and Thai basil. There is also the Lemongrass Collins with genever, lemongrass, lime, vanilla, bitter lemon soda; The Pimm’s Rangoon with pimm’s, citrus, mint, pineapple, kiwi, ginger ale, bitters; Cocnut Caucasian with vodka, coffe liqueur, mezcal, coconut, thai basil; The Chartreuse Swizzle (by marco dionysos) with chartreuse, falernum, pineapple, lime, nutmeg; The Tamarind Sour with rum, tamarind, lime, egg white, vanilla soda; and the Saratoga with bourbon, calvados, sweet vermouth, orange.
As for food, this steak house is serving up, Chicken Satay, Mushroom Spring Rolls, Wood-Fired Filet Mignon, Beef Rendang (short rib, indonesian curry, coconut rice, caramelized baby bok choy), Lobster Tom Kha, Crispy Tai Snapper, Mom’s Bami Noodles, Creekstone Ribeye, Colorado Lamb Chops, and Green Curry Fried Chicken.
