Twenty-five years ago, the Third Street Promenade in Downtown Santa Monica was launched and celebrated. The three city blocks between Broadway and Wilshire Boulevard were re-imagined in 1989 – not as a generic shopping mall, but as a gathering place for the people of Santa Monica (and Los Angeles).
Downtown Santa Monica is celebrating their Silver Anniversary with a series of events beginning this Friday and lasting through September. On May 16th, join in the new Friday afternoon lunch series, Picnic on the Promenade. Each event is all about community spirit and will be free to enjoy.
