El Diner, (5515 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, 90036) is a new Mexican cafe from Plus 2 Management, chef Hans Goplen (The Farm of Beverly Hills) and Jon Stevenson (TRiP). Right by the El Rey Theatre. El Diner has plates under $5 and full of Mexican staples like quesadillas, tacos and empadanas. Hours of operation vary depending on El Rey shows but they are open daily at 11 am for lunch.
