Union

Today, chef Bruce Kalman (Urbano Pizza Bar, The Churchill) and partner Marie Petulla, are opening Union (37 E Union St Pasadena, 91103) in Old Town Pasadena. Expect Northern Italian cuisine with a twist of California. The restaurant and bar will have seasonal, rustic plates that use the whole hog. Dishes include Ricotta Crostini with Pickled Onions and Pancetta; Orecchiette with “Head and Shoulder” Pork Ragu and Gremolata; and Spring Lamb with Grist & Tool Grains, Romesco and Pickled Green Garlic. Pastas are made in house, as is charcuterie and they are licensed to pour beer and wine, that were curated by sommelier George Pitsironis. To start Union will offer just dinner, with lunch and brunch coming soon.
