Hotel Normandie

Koreatown is blowing up these days and in addition to the newly added restaurants and bars, the newly re-stored, historic Hotel Normandie (605 S. Normandie Ave., Los Angeles, 90025) is opening. The cultural landmark hotel on the corner of 6th and Normandie, has undergone a multi-million dollar restoration and is now has 94 new rooms and suites. The grand lobby has a sprawling staircase, high-beam ceilings, a fountain, private library, piano and intimate gathering spots.

Hotel Normandie was built in the 1920’s by famed architects Walker & Eisen, who also designed the Fine Arts Building (1925), the Gaylord Apartments (1926), the Beverly Wilshire Hotel (1926), the Oviatt Building (1927) and the United Artists Theater (1927). The hotel will bring you back to the golden age of the city.

Each floor of the hotel features photography from local historian/photographer Jody Miller, providing a tour of Los Angeles through pictures. Right now, 74 rooms are available featuring Kings, Doubles and Suites with the remaining 20 to be completed this summer. Each room features restored hard wood floors and art deco bathrooms, flat screen televisions and high speed internet.

Adding to the Hotel Normandie experience this spring and summer will be a mix of dining and nightlife options. Located just a block from the Wilshire/Normandie Metro Station, the Hotel Normandie is easily accessible and near tons of attractions. Guests at Hotel Normandie can discover Korean massage, visit the historic Wiltern Theater or hit a bucket of balls at the famed Aroma Golf Range.
