The Peninsula Beverly Hills – an exclusive oasis nestled in The City of Angels – has announced “A Night in Jalisco,” a new pop-up dining series spearheaded by new Executive Chef Luis Cuadra that celebrates the rich heritage of authentic Latin cuisine. Every Friday and Saturday from now until 11/9, guests can indulge in delicious preparations such as fresh tableside guacamole, braised birria tacos, Mexican street corn, and dulce de leche cheesecake. Hotel Casa del Mar Celebrates Breast Cancer Awareness Month

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, Hotel Casa del Mar in Santa Monica is spreading awareness of the worthy cause with the below offerings: Proceeds from these offerings will go directly to Providence St. John’s Foundation for Breast Cancer.  

  • Pink Exterior: The hotel, along with sister property Shutters on the Beach, will light up in pink every night during the month of October to show support.
  • Ice Cream Tart x Sweet Rose: Continuing its ongoing partnership with local favorite Sweet Rose Creamery, Hotel Casa del Mar will offer a special Ice Cream Tart topped with an exclusive Sweet Rose Creamery Strawberry Rhubarb flavored ice cream. Available at Terrazza Restaurant for $16, the limited time offering is made with graham cracker crust, pink ice cream, and toasted lemon meringue. 
  • Mani & Pedi For A Cause: The hotel is partnering with Zoya, the world’s longest-wearing natural nail polish, to offer pink manis and pedis with Zoya polish at Sea Wellness Spa for the cause. Those who make a donation of $5 or more will receive a custom Zoya trio box with a pink polish, ultra glossy topcoat, and base coat.

Restaurants Rally For L.A. Loves Alex’s Kids Campaign

Los Angeles area kids are gearing up to hold lemonade stands all over the city this summer to raise money to help fight pediatric cancer (L.A. Loves Alex’s Lemonade Kids’ Campaign has raised over $300,000 in the last four years). These kids are following the example of Alex Scott, a young girl who raised more than a million dollars to help other kids who suffer from the disease that took her life at age eight, pediatric cancer.

Alex Lentz, daughter of renowned chefs Suzanne Goin and David Lentz, grew up attending the annual culinary cookout with her family. In recent years, she followed in her parents’ footsteps in a big way by chairing the local Kids Campaign. To further her fundraising efforts, the high school senior partnered with local restaurants to donate $1 from the sales of one of their most popular food and drink items to benefit the Kids Campaign.
