Caulfield’s Bar and Dining Room, (9360 Wilshire Blvd., Beverly Hills, 90212; 310.388.6860) is a low key, upscale, American-bistro open inside the Thompson Beverly Hills. The three room restaurant is decorated with striped floors, antique lighting, white-painted brick, wooden panels, bistro chairs, a sturdy mahogany bar and large murals featuring Hollywood legends (Arthur Miller, Charlie Chaplin, Ed Begley Jr, Rock Hudson, Jack Kerouac, Dorothy Parker, Dalton Trumbo, Fritz Lang, and Salinger).
Start your day of right with some coffee and brioche french toast topped with bourbon maple syrup or rosemary smoked salmon. Or maybe you’re not a morning person…stopin later and grab a 23-Year-Old Fashioned, made with 23-year rum and chocolate bitters or one of their craft beers. Then, settle in your booth for small plates including, beer-soaked mussels with sourdough bread, sweet corn agnolotti or go for full on dinner with the rib eye for two (that’s if you have a partner in crime to split it with), grilled branzino with roasted tomatoes and onions, smoked trout topping an egg with horseradish dressing, house burgers, and Caulfield’s own peanut butter cups for dessert.
