Malibu’s only running and walking festival is back and bigger than ever. Los Muertos 5k returns to Downtown Los Angeles, bringing a vibrant celebration of Day of the Dead where family and friends gather to remember loved ones through this rich cultural tradition. The course starts on historic Olvera Street, runs through lower Chinatown, and continues onto Alameda Street towards Los Angeles State Historic Park. Experience traditional face painting to resemble skulls, decorate altars with bright orange marigold flowers and photos, participate in an official Community Altar, and witness a pre-start purification ceremony with traditional Aztec dancers.
