Escape to Spain at Olé! Flamenco & Tapas Night at Telefèric  Barcelona

Looking for a taste of Spain without leaving Los Angeles? Telefèric Barcelona’s newest monthly event, Olé! Flamenco & Tapas Night, brings the passionate soul of Spanish culture right to Brentwood, along with some of the best Spanish food near me. It’s no wonder this monthly event is quickly becoming the hottest reservation in town. (Cover Photo Credit: Abel Rincon)

When I walked into the inaugural celebration last week, I was immediately transported to the vibrant streets of Barcelona. The ambiance was electric—intimate lighting, the aromatic scent of saffron wafting from the kitchen, and the palpable excitement of fellow diners ready to experience something truly special.

A Cultural Feast for All Senses

Taking place on the third Tuesday of every month at 6:30 pm, this immersive Spanish experience features the world-renowned Caminos Flamencos performers. Throughout the evening, a talented bailaor (flamenco dancer) and musician captivate the room with three spectacular sets, each more impressive than the last. You will be blown away by the rhythmic footwork and soul-stirring music.

What makes this experience particularly special is how seamlessly the performances integrate with the dining experience. Unlike other dinner shows where the meal feels secondary, at Telefèric, the culinary journey matches the entertainment in quality and authenticity.

Is This the Best Spanish Food Near Me?

The curated menu at Olé! Flamenco & Tapas Night is a tapestry of flavors. My culinary journey began with their legendary Crab Croquetas (Crab croquettes topped with tuna sashimi & spicy aioli)—crispy on the outside with a creamy, flavorful center that practically melts in your mouth. The Pan Con Tomate (Traditional Spanish dish of toasted bread with tomato dressing & chorizo butter) provided the perfect rustic simplicity, while the Patatas Bravas (Crispy potatoes topped with homemade brava sauce & aioli) and premium Jamón Ibérico transported us straight to Spain with its rich, robust flavor.

My personal favorites of the evening were the Tuna Tacos with their perfect balance of fresh flavors and the Pulpo Telefèric (octopus) grilled to tender perfection with just the right amount of char.

For main courses, the Prime Wellington showcased Telefèric’s mastery of land fare, but the true showstopper was undoubtedly the Maine Lobster Paella. This isn’t your typical paella—it arrives brimming with HUGE chunks of sweet lobster, plump gulf shrimp, and tender octopus, all nestled in perfectly cooked saffron rice with that coveted socarrat (crispy bottom layer) that paella enthusiasts crave.

The evening concluded with a heavenly trio of desserts: traditional churros with chocolate, a decadent torrija (Spanish bread pudding), and silky flan, paired with robust Spanish coffee. And make sure to round out your evening with their curated cocktails and extensive wine list.

So is this the best Spanish food near me? YES!

More Than Just Dinner and a Show

What truly sets this experience apart is the contagious energy emitting from the entertainment. Their joy spread through the restaurant like a wave, moving the entire crowd. And did I mention the interactive nature of the evening. At one point, the bailaor invited me to join the performance, and before I knew it, I was on my feet attempting (emphasis on attempting) to match the intricate footwork of our professional dancer! It created an unforgettable moment of connection and joy.

The combination of authentic entertainment, some of the best Spanish food near me, and the chance to actively participate creates an evening that resonates long after the final note is played.
