Los Angeles Independent Filmmakers Showcase (IFS) Film Festival

The 33rd annual Los Angeles Independent Filmmakers Showcase (IFS) Film Festival is here! For the next two weeks, guests can screen films, attend parties and events showcasing the best in independent films. The IFS Film Festival has hosted premieres for the world’s greatest filmmakers, including Paul Thomas Anderson’s Phantom Thread, & Inherent Vice, David Cronenberg’s Map To The Stars, Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight, James Franco’s The Disaster Artist, and Spike Lee’s Blackkklansman. Piccalilli Collabs w/ Crown and Hops for First-Ever Tap Takeover 

Piccalilli, Culver City’s creative Cali-Asian restaurant, is partnering with Crowns and Hops, the first Black-owned, Women-owned and Veteran-owned brewery based out of Inglewood, to host its first ever Tap Takeover! Founded by Beny Ashburn and Teo Hunter, Crowns and Hops’ mission is to preserve culture, expand the palate and build community through world class beer. In collaboration with Piccalilli’s co-owner and executive chef, Macks Collins, Piccalilli’s first ever Tap Takeover provides Culver City locals and visitors a chance to experience the best of LA’s innovative beer and culinary scene. During Piccalilli’s Tap Takeover, Crowns & Hops will take charge of Piccalilli’s bar to offer signature beers such as its 8 Trill Pils pilsner, a floral The Dopest Hazy IPA, a bright and clean Inglewood Sun west coast IPA and Mama’s Punch, a tropical fruit punch style tart ale, all while discussing each beer’s flavor and aroma profiles, ingredients and more. No Kid Hungry’s Taste of The Nation is making its highly anticipated return to Los Angeles this June and celebrating 10 years of hosting the event at Media Park in Culver City. Attendees will enjoy exceptional eats and curated drinks from Los Angeles’ top chefs and mixologists – including Jackson Kalb, Shirley Chung, Stephanie Izzard, and Jazz Singsanong – all united to support No Kid Hungry’s work to end childhood hunger in California and across the U.S. In addition to the incredible line-up of culinary talents, the afternoon will include live entertainment, games, as well as an interactive scavenger hunt for kids. Taste of the Nation promises a fun-filled day highlighting the vibrancy and generosity of Los Angeles’ culinary community. Los Angeles has no shortage of food events.
