  • albertz benda Los Angeles Presents the Group Exhibition Do You See Me: This is the last week to view group exhibition Do You See Me at albertz benda art gallery. The group exhibition features a brilliant sextet of young artists, including Dustin HarwoodLanise HowardLarissa De SouzaNatalie WadlingtonRobert Peterson, and Sydnie Jimenez. Via each artist’s chosen medium, this ensemble show represents the ongoing curiosity surrounding identity through painting, sculpting, and collage. In addition, the sextet employs a powerful imagination to investigate their own subjectivities while embracing the embodiment of trying to advance social, political, and theoretical concerns. 
  • Friedman Benda Los Angeles Presents Ebitenyefa Baralaye’s Making Space: Tracing Tomorrow: Ebitenyefa Baralaye’s solo debut, titled, Making Space: Tracing Tomorrow, will close at Friedman Benda next weekend. The calculated and intuitive show offers viewers a look into Baralaye’s exploration of the Black Diaspora through a collection of contemporary works by the ceramicist. Presenting three distinct bodies of work, the exhibition reflects Baralaye’s personal negotiation of and concern with the fragmented and transitional presence of the Black diaspora. The up-and-coming artist explores cultural, spiritual, and material forms, texts, and symbols interpreted through a diaspora lens and abstracted through an extensive education in craft and design.

Huckleberry Weekly Supper

Huckleberry Bakery and Café is cooking and baking up a variety of new offerings for supper that are hot and ready to eat right away on-site or take home, as well as some fun, comforting dishes made-to-order from the kitchen. The team is excited to become the early evening destination for the community, where you can pop by for a quick snack or meal with the kiddos, enjoy a casual dinner over a glass of wine with friends, grab something to-go, or stock up on gourmet provisions. The menu strikes a nice balance between nourishing, farmers’ market-driven food you could eat daily with more indulgent fare with a variety of hot and cold prepared foods, like Braised Brisket with caramelized onions & carrots, and Seared Salmon with winter citrus, toasted coconut, peanuts & Fresno chilies, alongside vibrant, seasonal sides, such as Tandoori Cauliflower, Cucumber & Herb Salad and more. Dishes made-to-order include Garden Fresh Vegetable Wraps with fife, quinoa, avocado, red pepper, feta & broccolini, Fried Chicken Sandwiches, and Executive Chef Catie Randazzo’s incredible Smash Burger with special sauce, housemade pickles, shaved red onion & Little Gem lettuce on a Milo + Olive brioche bun. On Fridays, enjoy Fried Chicken Plates (for 1, 2, or 4 people) with traditional sides, like collard greens, mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, and more. (3/17): Caldo Verde Partners with Katie Parla to Bring Food of the Italian Islands to Los Angeles

Caldo Verde is excited to announce that Suzanne Goin and team will partner with acclaimed Rome-based author, television and podcast host, journalist, culinary guide, and educator Katie Parla for a special lunch on 3/17. The special menu highlights the New York Times best-selling author’s most recent release. It also marks the signature restaurant’s first book lunch event as part of an ongoing event series spotlighting chefs, restaurateurs, and food connoisseurs from around the globe that have inspired Goin and Styne throughout the years. (3/18): LA County High School For The Arts Presents Future Arts Gala!

LA County High School for the Arts (LACHSA), the number one arts high school in America, is hosting its 6th Annual Future Artists Gala on Saturday, 3/18. The event will take place at the AVALON Hollywood, one of Hollywood’s most historic landmarks, spotlighting special celebrity guests, exciting student performances, exclusive auction items from internationally renowned LACHSA artists, once-in-a-lifetime experiences, cocktails, delectable food, and much more! The Future Artists Gala will feature world-class entertainment by some of the most talented student artists in LA County in music, theatre, cinematic arts, dance, and visual arts. LACHSA alum Corbin Bleu (High School Musical and the Tony-nominated Kiss Me Kate on Broadway) will be the host for the evening. Tony Barbieri from Jimmy Kimmel Live! will serve as live auction host. Tony®, EMMY®, and four-time GRAMMY®-nominated LACHSA alum Josh Groban will be honored with the LACHSA Luminary Award and Warner Bros. Television Group Chairman and CEO, Channing Dungey, will be honored with the LACHSA Arts Advocate Award. (4/2): The 6th Annual Masters of Taste

Mark your calendars! The 6th annual Masters of Taste is approaching. The premier outdoor luxury food and beverage festival will return to the historic Pasadena Rose Bowl on 4/2 with Chef Michael Reed and Kwini Reed as Hosts. Host Chef Michael Reed is a classically trained chef and restaurateur who has spent 19 years as a chef for restaurants across New York and Los Angeles. Today, Chef Reed is the co-owner and Executive Chef behind two Los Angeles restaurants, Poppy + Rose of Downtown Los Angeles and Anaheim’s Poppy & Seed.
