Since 2015, Tu Madre has been satisfying hungry customers with delicious tacos, bowls, breakfast burritos, and handcrafted margaritas made with “flavors from across the city with a diverse array of ingredients.” Located in Westwood, Hancock Park, Los Feliz, and West Hollywood, the beloved hotspot is bringing its vibrant menu to the bustling beach city of downtown Santa Monica with its newest and largest location.
Welcome to Tu Madre Santa Monica. From the vibrant indoor area and bar to the more intimate, lush outdoor space, Tu Madre combines a hip and trendy décor with the warmth and comfort of home. And as for the menu, it absolutely lives up to all the hype. These are some of the best tacos I’ve had in my life, PERIOD. Talk about being packed with flavor. Each bite is like a celebration of taste in your mouth. Upon the recommendation of the server, I ordered the Crispy Shrimp (perfectly cooked shrimp smothered in a delightful combo of sweet and savory sauce), Ahi Tuna (so fresh it literally melts on your tongue), and from their large plant-based selection, the mouthwatering Vegan Eggplant Soyrizo Picadillo. My taste buds and I were blown away. My friend ate the Carne Asada and the Lamb Barbacoa, which he described as finger-licking good, in addition to the refreshing and tasty Ahi Tuna. And then there’s dessert. Three words, Red… Velvet… Churros… . Yeah, they’re THAT good!
It’s not just the food that Tu Madre is known for but also the handcrafted margaritas. Choose from a glass or pitcher of ice-cold margaritas, including the Classic, Spicy Cucumber, Passionfruit, Strawberry Habanero, Mango Chamoy, and more! If you have no idea what margarita to order, no problem. Order a flight and drink your way through these wonderful libations.
