Deluxe 1717 Expands Hours and Adds Weekend Brunch

Deluxe 1717 recently expanded the dinner hours and now offers a delicious weekend brunch. Chef Onil Chibas and his chef-collaborator Alberto Morales have curated an eclectic menu highlighting their diverse heritages. Chibas is Afro-Cuban, Morales is Bolivian, and the pastry chef, Cherry Aguilar, is Filipina. The vibrant menu deliciously reflects this multicultural mix. Highlights include Pilipino Lumpia, Raz el Hanout Smoked Albacore Tuna, Squid Ink Bucatini, and Plantains. The new weekend brunch menu features Brisket Huevos Rancheros, German Chocolate Pancakes, and the fan-favorite Cuban Sandwich with house-smoked pork belly. October is National Seafood Month, and in celebration, Ocean Prime Beverly Hills has created special sushi rolls and entrées, along with a perfect wine pairing. Today, L.A. Restaurant Group IDG opens BOA Steakhouse and Sushi Roku at the popular Manhattan Village shopping and dining destination. BOA Steakhouse reinvented the traditional American steakhouse with its chic look, innovative dishes, and trendy atmosphere. Paw Works is a nonprofit rescue organization that partners with county and city shelters to give abandoned animals a second chance at life. The theme of this year’s gala is Barking Mad, an ode to Alice in Wonderland, and the evening features a red-carpet event, cocktail hour, dinner, music, and silent and live auctions. Santa Monica’s Annual Terry Fox Run Returns for the Fifth Year, in Support of Cancer Research

Canadian athlete and humanitarian Terry Fox had one goal, a world without cancer. With one leg having been amputated due to cancer, he embarked on a cross-country run to raise money and awareness for cancer research. Although Terry passed away before he could finish his Marathon of Hope, his legacy of perseverance and determination lives on. For the fifth year, the 5K Terry Fox Run is taking place in Santa Monica, and you are invited to join the fight by walking, running, biking, hiking, skating, or wheeling for cancer research.
