First, I want to say opt to sit outside. You never know who or what you’ll see in the plaza at The Original Farmers Market, and we had the honor of seeing a fashion show while we dined! We started with the tasty Fiesta Nachos and delicious Caesar Salad, and the sleeper hit, the Hibiscus Quesadilla. Talk about a mouthwatering explosion of yummy goodness. You can’t go to El Granjero Cantina without sinking your teeth into the tacos! Served on made-to-order corn tortillas with a side of rice & beans, choose from Carnitas, Crispy Avocado, Tomatillo Chicken, and Crispy Fish. I’m biased to fish tacos, so I opted for them, and they did not disappoint! What sets them apart is El Granjero’s spicy cabbage slaw to kick the flavor up a notch. For those watching carbs, the Bowls are for you. Take herbed rice or cauliflower rice and romaine, and top it with Seared Fish, Tomatillo Chicken, Crispy Avocado, or Carnitas. The Seared Fish was delicious and included aji verde, marinated kale, and pickled red onions. El Granjero also serves Burritos, Enchiladas, and decadent desserts, like the Caramelized Plantains, Bunelo Sundae, and the seasonal Pumpkin Flan. And for those with dietary restrictions, there are plenty of vegan and gluten-free options. Let’s get to the drinks! El Granjero is known for serving the best margaritas in town! I’m salivating, thinking about the Pomegranate Margarita. You can also order frozen drinks like the Frozen Mojito and Frozen Strawberry Margarita and classics like the refreshing Sangria.
