This October, brush off your Sunday Best because the Paw Works Animal Rescue hosts the 6th annual Ties & Tails Gala. Paw Works is a nonprofit rescue organization that partners with county and city shelters to give abandoned animals a second chance at life. The theme of this year’s Ties & Tails Gala is Barking Mad, an ode to Alice in Wonderland. The evening features a red-carpet event, cocktail hour, dinner, music, and silent and live auctions. For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Pacifica Hotels Adds Fight Like a Girl Cocktail

Pacifica Hotels is raising awareness for breast cancer prevention. Each of their properties, the Marina del Rey HotelJamaica Bay Inn & The Wayfarer DTLA, support Breast Cancer Awareness Month with the Fight Like a Girl cocktail. The seasonal gin and tonic is made with Sipsong Indira Gin and a pop of flavorful additions. A portion of each glass will support breast cancer prevention awareness through Sipsong’s donation, a movement to use genetic testing to screen for breast cancer. Recipe for Fight Like a Girl:

  • 2 oz. Sipsong Indira Gin
  • ½ oz. Pomegranate grenadine
  • ·½ oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1-2 oz. Fever-Tree light tonic
  • Shake Indira gin, lemon juice, and grenadine with ice for 10 seconds. Add tonic, w-15 fresh pomegranate seeds, pour into a Collins glass and serve.
