Chicas Tacos, the award-winning fast-casual Mexican restaurant is now open in Beverly Grove. Founded by Chef Eduardo Ruiz, Chicas is an elevated taqueria, serving made to order food from fresh, organic, locally-sourced ingredients.
From the moment you enter Chicas, you are surrounded by a warmth and comfort that reminds you of home. Next, you are greeted by smiles of the friendly staff as you walk towards the counter. By this point your mouth is watering from the intoxicating aroma drifting through your nostrils. But does the restaurant live up to all the hype? Yes! First, there is something on the menu for everyone. Chicas caters to meat eaters, plant-based, and gluten-free patrons. I suggest starting with something to share, like the Plant-Based Nachos. Get ready for an explosion of flavor to rush your taste buds. Picture this, non-GMO tortilla chips smothered in plant-based queso, avocado salsa, morita salsa, radish, scallion, cilantro, grilled jalapeno and Impossible Meat. I’m licking my lips thinking about the yummy goodness. Chicas is home to ‘A Better Taco’ and yes, they are hands down better than any taco you’ve ever had. Protein choices range from steak, chicken, pork and beer battered fish to plant-based items, jackfruit and Impossible Meat. I still dream about the Impossible Taco (Iceberg, radish, citrus vinaigrette on crispy corn tortilla shell) as it brought tears of joy to my eyes. Other menu items include: Burritos and Bowls, Pizzas, Street Corn, and so much more. You can’t leave without satisfying your sweet tooth, and Chicas has the perfect end to your meal. Sit back and enjoy their Churro Bites with Ice Cream. Bottom line, EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING on the menu is outstanding.
