Fall Skincare Routine from Holistic by Nona

I love the Fall. The leaves change colors, hats and scarves become a normal part of our daily wardrobe, and the smell of pumpkin spice fills the air. The Fall also brings cold weather and harsh winds which can leave your skin dry, itchy and damaged. To ensure your complexion remains youthful, soft and clear, hydration is key. We asked skin consultant and licensed esthetician Holistic by Nona, for advice on how to make sure our skin is hydrated and radiant in the Fall.

The first thing Nona mentioned is to remember each person’s skin is unique, so what may work for your friend, may not work for you. The common goal is ultimate hydration – so the skincare routine will be different for those with oily, dry or combination skin. The best way to treat it is to consult with a professional who can assess your specific needs. Nona has been taking care of my face for years, so I wanted to share the Fall skincare routine she designed for me.

I always wash my face every morning to wipe away the bacteria and dead cells from the day before. The key is to clean the face while not stripping the skin of its natural moisture. I have very sensitive skin, and products that are too harsh will dry it out. Nona loves the G.M Collin line because they have transformative products for all skin types. I start with their Hydramucine Cleansing Milk before my toner, the Hydramucine Treating Mist. This is followed by their Detox Serum and then the Hydramucine Cream, while others may opt for the Hydramucine Gel. If you are heading out for the day, an SPF is crucial for protecting your skin from the sun.

My day is over and it’s now time for bed. Again I wash my face with the Hydramucine Cleansing Milk and tone with the Hydramucine Treating Mist. Again I apply my serum and then Hydramucine Cream. Once or twice a week I exfoliate with the Exfozyme. This scrub is perfect for me since it’s auto-activated and requires no manual exfoliation or scrubbing. Just apply a thin layer on damp skin, leave on for 10 to 15 minutes and then rinse thoroughly. To ensure I achieve maximum hydration, I wear the Aqua Mask several nights of the week – in particular on the night (s) I exfoliate. I love this mask because it keeps my face moisturized and I can sleep in it overnight.

As we prep for Halloween and Thanksgiving, remember radiant, youthful and glowing skin start with hydration. To ensure you are following the perfect regimen catered to your individual needs, let Nona serve as your personal skin consultant and G.M Collin supplier. She is offering virtual consultations, and outdoor in-person facials for those in the Los Angeles area.
